Merry Christmas to everyone! As Christmas is drawing near, how's everyone doing? Still trying to get that last-minute shopping done?! That's certainly not an experience to be excited about this time of year. Aside from all the things and stuffs to get and to do, I would like to share with you the real focus of Christmas that sometimes got set aside from all the 'commercialism' and 'festive rituals' around us: JESUS. Yes, remember, Christmas is to remember the birth of Baby Jesus, who came into this world, to be one of us, , to save us from the bondages of sin, and to reconcile us with GOD. So slow down, take a deep breath and take a break! Take some time to think what Christmas really means to you, and share it with us! Come on now, don't just let me be the only who talk here :) Love to hear from you!

Everyone, My fiancee and I are desperately seeking jobs in China (PRC) for next semester and wonder if anyone can help with leads. We have had two solid leads fall through in the last week and its nearing time for us to nail something down or give up. Florence is hoping to do research for her dissertation in psychology on Chinese students and I want to search some libraries to continue my research into the writings and experiences of Chinese Christians in the 16th and 17th centuries. We want to teach english (or psychology for Florence) while we do this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, if you know of grants for research in these areas that might be available, we would like to hear. Thank you. Mike Parrish

Hey, guys! I am back again! Good news to tell you! My email address is working now. If anyone would like to chat with me through the emailbox, that will be great. In fact, I am a Mandarin speaker, I am from Taiwan. Some of you might be curious why I like to chat with you guys here in English. The reason is that writing in Chinese costs me a lot of time, I can not type Chinese so quickly as I type English. Right now, my church is pareparing the Christmas night celebration, and so I have been pretty busy since two weeks ago. At the Christmas night, we will youth fellowship band performing, and also drama performing. It seems really great, doesn't it? But's I should say "It's really great!" Anyway, Christmas is one of my favorite holiday, because it means hope. How about you? See ya! Ken Chang

"Thank You" is maybe easy for one to say, but we often forgot to say it. Let us say thank you to each other and also give thanks and praises to our Lord. I want to first say thank you to Maggie, thank you for your messages and for what you have done for GWCCN. Especially the hospitality from you and your church in last Saturday's Demo. I owe a special thanks to Oliver Hsieh, without his unconditional supports, GWCCN would not be possible. I also want to thank Daniel Wu, especially for the supports at the Internet Workshop in August. Although sometimes seems quiet, Issac Huang has been continuously giving us valuable suggestions and supports. I also want to give him a big thanks. Raymond Lee, another "underground" supporter, has been giving us lots of ideas and valuable opinions. I also owe him a thanks. Don't forget our "Fatty" Pastor, David Chen, and also Pastor Paul Tong, without their profounding answers to the "Bible Q's and A's", GWCCN would have been more quiet. Also Pastor David Hsu of Evangel- ical Formosa Church, without his generous providing of church information in D.C. area, GWCCN wouldn't be created. There are also many many friends, ED Liao from Taiwan, D.J. Chang in North Carolina, Chuck Hung of InfoSolv, Albert Hsieh of T.P.C., ...etc., they have been participating in GWCCN. I want to give thanks to you. No matter if you are an additive GWCCN user like me, or once-a-while user, GWCCN can be a bridge between church and church, group and group, and also be a common "playground" for all of us. And finally, of course, I need to give a big thanks to my wife, if she didn't grant me the permission to sit in front of my computer and also take care of two kids, I would not be able to write this message :) Anyway, "If there are too many people and too many things to give thanks, then just give thanks to God". Happy Thanksgiving to you all !

Hi everyone, Thanksgiving is here again..... To some of us, it's not so much a holiday, as it is a state of being. Just like what Eric Folkerth who authors the weekly devotional 'EPistles' says, "It can never really be expressed, captured, by some ritual activity like eating Turkey or watching football. Thanksgiving is an *attitude.* When you get right down to it, thanksgiving is actually *prayers.* Thanksgiving is, truly, thanking God for all that has been in your life. Thanksgiving is a unique little word. It contains both the word *thanks,* and the word *giving.*" I am thankful for God's salvation and His presence in my life. I am thankful for past events, sweet or painful, but with God's given grace and strength help shape me to become the person I am today. I am thankful for things big and small that have come my way... Countless blessings, one by one, Give thanks to what's been done, None too big, and none to small, To be remembered by us all. The Psalm challenges us to "enter his gates with thanksgiving..." Let us enter into God's presence(God's gates) and start with a time of thanksgiving. And also to *give* back what we can. This Thursday, and everyday, thank God as often as you can! God bless Maggie
