[question]:

I was told that sids(crib death)happens because of a demonic spirit. I don't remember the name of this evil spirit but I am told it has one.

I was told that a lady had a book in her nursery containing this name in it, not that it was an evil book or such that it simply had the name of this evil spirit in it somewhere. And that her baby died from crib death. The lady that lost her child to sids let a friend that was pregnant borrow this book. This lady being very spiritual had a very uncomfortable feeling about this book.

She shared these feelings with her mother (a prayer warrior in my church)and she took a look at this book and found the name of this supposed evil spirit in it. She therefore told her daughter to get this book out of the house and destroy it for if she didn't her child would surely die of sids.

This is very confusing to me since I don't know of anything in the bible descibing this sort of thing. And I know that many Christian couples lose their children to sids if this is true. I can maybe understand it happening to a couple who did not follow the Lord but not to God fearing Christians. Could you please research this for me so that I can know whether this is true. Thank You very much.

[answer]:

In my more than twenty years of Christian ministry, I encountered numerous challenge from devil. But from my experience, I got a conclusion:

There is no evil spirit surpassing Jesus Christ.

According to I Corinthians 8:4,

"As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one."

Paul told us that idol is nothing. I think I can extend it a little that evil spirit is nothing. It only works on those who believe it. As long as you pray to God in the name of Jesus, the evil spirit has no power to over come Jesus. This is come from my personal experience.

I encountered several incidences that demanded faith to overcome evil spirit. The first time I encountered an evil spirit, I rebuked it and pray to God in the name of Jesus to protect me and the person who was possessed by the evil spirit. When the evil spirit came out of the person, it was exactly like the events recorded in the Bible. The patient was unconscious for a period of time. I was scared. But I insisted to ask God to rebuke the evil spirit and to protect me and the patient. I told Jesus that I could not bear it. He must won the battle for me. The result was wonderful. The evil spirit never had the power over the patient any more. And I was fine. I counted that incidence as one of the evidences to dedicate my whole life to full time Christian ministry.

I personally believe that the first encounter strengthened my faith some what.

Later when I was in Louisiana working with foreign students, one of the students from Malaysia asked me to destroy his "spirit" possessed T-shirt. He claimed that the evil spirit was making noises in his closet. He was one hundred percent sure it was the source of the evil events that he had encountered. His roommate also testified for him. I went to his home and opened the luggage and pull out the T-shirt that was filled with painted curse and signs of evil spirit. After a short prayer in the name of Jesus, I burned the T-shirt on a B-B-Q grill.

The student told me that everything return to normal. He appreciated me very much and converted to be a Christian.

Later I was famous on campus as an exorciser. Several other students also asked me to drive out evil spirit. I did it with no secret. I just went and prayed with a simple prayer asking God to protect the person who was disturbed by the evil spirit in the name of Jesus. I destroyed the source of the evil spirit by fire or buried the silver or gold idols on a remote park that no one could remember and went back to dig it up.

Personally, I believe the existence of evil spirit. But Christians do not need to afraid the evil spirit. Jesus is far more greater than the evil spirit. He is the creator of the universe.

By the way, I've never bragged my experience and never claimed to be a miracle healer. Actually I hate miracle healers. Because they force believers to lie. When actually nothing happened, they kept asking believers, "Are you healed?" If you do not say "yes," they will tell everybody that you do not have faith. If you say "Yes," everybody happy. So many Christians were forced to lie in public.

[question]:

Is the Sabbath on a Saturday or a Sunday ?

[answer]:

In the Old Testament, Sabbath is Saturday, the seventh day of a week. God separates this day from others of a week for men in order to let human beings remember His great work by worshipping Him and to have one day rest (Gen. 2 : 1~3; Ex. 20 : 8).

Therefore since then, God wanted man to work hard in the first six days of a week and then set apart the seventh for worship and rest.

But after creation, man sinned against Him, therefore they had not enjoyed such holy rest on this special day. He then tried to make the same request upon the people He called out of Egypt. But they, namely Israelite people, failed again. They did make this day separated, but eventually neither did they enjoy God's blessing and peace on them because of their sins against God.

The author of the Epistle of Hebrew makes very clear interpretation about this historical events (Heb. 3 : 7 ~ 19). In that passage, we know sins people committed became the very power to prohibit the entrance for them to the "holy rest".

However, the promise God had made through David indicates that there will be a new "Sabbath Day" set to "replace" the old one (Heb. 4:7; Psalm 118 : 22~24). And from the early day of the history of Christ's Churches, we know the so-called new "Sabbath Day" is the Lord's day, namely the Sunday. God's people get together to worship Him on this particular day to celebrate the "rest" they enjoy in His own son, our Lord Jesus Christ (see Act 20 : 7).

The first Pentecost which is the day the Holy spirit descended upon the first Christians in Jerusalem was also Sunday (see Lev. 23 : 15 ~ 16; Act 2 : 1).

[question]:

Do all babies and/or children go to heaven if they die, even if their parents aren't saved? A relative of mine recently lost a baby and I don't think either parent was a Christian.

[answer]:

According to Jeremiah 31:29, "Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes, his own teeth will be set on edge."

This scripture clearly indicates that each individual is responsible for his own sin.

Isaiah 7:15 talking about a promised child, "He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right."

This scripture indicates that there is a time for a child to be old enough to reject the wrong and choose the right. We call this time as the age of accountibility. Each country has its own law to regulate the age of accountiblility. But God is almighty. He knows everything. God has His own way to determine whether a child is accountible for his sin. From our experience of raising children, children from very young has the tendancy to sin. Children can manipulate their parents even when they are a few month old. God certainly will know what is the best way to judge a child. It is not our business to guess whether a child is accountible for his or her sin.

But as a new baby, there are several different opinions. Catholic church believes that the original sin must be washed away with baptism. Catholic priests baptize little ones as soon as they can reach the babies.

Baptist and most other Protestants don't believe in the water of baptism. Salvation comes from faith. It has nothing to do with the water of baptism. I personally believe that a baby is innocent. The salvation has nothing to do with the parents. Original sin has not got a chance to work on it. Jesus said that we must return to children's form to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus words indicate that He also believe there is a age of accountibility.

May be it is a emotional concern about the salvation on a baby, but there is nothing to worry about on God's side. God is always righteous and justice. God is never wrong. The most important issue is to win the parents of the baby to Christ. Their salvation are the most important issue on the screen.
